“We Demo, YOU Reno!”

Frequently Asked Questions

When can you start the demolition project?

Our start date depends on the current schedule and project requirements. After an initial consultation and site assessment, we can provide an estimated start date. We aim to accommodate your timeline as closely as possible to ensure smooth project coordination.

How long will the demolition take?

The duration of a demolition project varies based on the size and complexity of the structure. On average, a standard full gut residential demolition can take 1-2 weeks, while larger or more complex projects may take longer. During our site assessment, we’ll provide a detailed timeline tailored to your specific needs.

How much will the demolition cost?

The cost of demolition is influenced by factors such as the size of the building, materials used, location, and specific project requirements. After evaluating your project, we’ll provide a comprehensive quote that includes all necessary services. We strive to offer competitive pricing while ensuring the highest quality of work.

Can you minimize noise and dust during demolition?

While some noise and dust are inevitable in demolition, we implement advanced LEAN based techniques and equipment to minimize their impact. Demo For Your Reno uses misting machines in older homes that have been constructed in plaster and lath to control dust and schedule work to reduce noise disruption. We’re committed to maintaining a safe and clean worksite, adhering to all local regulations and standards.

Have you ever used explosives for demolition?

No, but we do have experience using expansive grout, which we like to call the silent and slow-acting explosive (not showy, but just as cool). Using this controlled product for specific demolition projects where it is the most efficient and safe method. This approach is used primarily for large concrete structures and requires meticulous planning and adherence to safety protocols. Our team is highly trained and experienced in this type of demolition.

Can you handle excavation and underpinning as part of the project?

Absolutely. In addition to demolition, we offer comprehensive excavation and underpinning services. Whether you need site preparation, foundation excavation, or structural support, our experienced team can manage these tasks efficiently, ensuring a seamless project from start to finish.

What safety measures do you take during demolition?

Safety is our top priority, not because we are advised by governing bodies to work safely. We do it because we have love and respect for each other. We adhere to strict safety protocols, conduct regular training for our team, and comply with all OSHA and local safety regulations. Our safety measures include:

  • Thorough site assessments.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Continuous monitoring to mitigate any potential hazards.

How do you handle debris removal and recycling?

We manage all aspects of debris removal, including sorting, hauling, and recycling materials. We have a division at Demo For Your Reno called Robinhood Builds that finds new homes for some of materials such as wood, steel, windows and doors. We aim to recycle as much material as possible to reduce environmental impact. Our team ensures the site is clean and ready for the next phase of construction, following eco-friendly practices.

Can I get a job on your team?

When others see us work and observe that we are having a great time, we are happy and have a dance-like flow and rhythm as a team. They invariably ask if they can join our team or ask if we will hire their child. At DFYR, we are always looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. If you’re interested in a career with us, please visit our Careers page to view current job openings and submit your application. We value talent and dedication and look forward to hearing from you.

Can I get one of your company T-shirts?

Our team members, more often than not, get stopped on the bus, at lunch or walking home about their DFYR gear. We appreciate your interest in our company! While we typically provide T-shirts to our team members only, occasionally, we give gear away when we see someone being kind. Please contact us directly with details of your kind gesture and we will see if you meet the criteria and we’ll let you know if any T-shirts are available.
